1-Best time to visit:

Char Dham Yatra usually starts in April/May and ends in October/November. The best time to visit is between May and June and September to November. However, it is recommended to check the weather conditions before planning the trip, as the region is prone to heavy rainfall and landslides.

2-How to reach:

The four shrines are located in Uttarakhand, India. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. The nearest railway stations are Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun. From these places, one can hire taxis or take buses to reach the respective shrines.

3-Route:

The Char Dham Yatra usually starts from Yamunotri, then proceeds to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and finally, Badrinath. The route is circular, and one can start from any shrine. The entire journey takes around 10-12 days to complete.

4-Yamunotri:

Yamunotri is the source of the river Yamuna, and the temple dedicated to the goddess Yamuna is located here. The shrine is accessible by a 6 km trek from Janki Chatti.

5-Gangotri:

Gangotri is the source of the river Ganges, and the temple dedicated to the goddess Ganga is located here. The shrine is accessible by a 19 km trek from Gangotri town.



6-Kedarnath:

Kedarnath is the abode of Lord Shiva, and the temple dedicated to him is located here. The shrine is accessible by a 14 km trek from Gaurikund.

7-Badrinath:

Badrinath is the abode of Lord Vishnu, and the temple dedicated to him is located here. The shrine is accessible by road.
